About the Chef

Chef Michael Schulson

Inspired by his time living in Japan, Schulson created a dining experience that celebrates traditional Japanese culture with classic dishes, an expansive sushi menu, and a vast assortment of sake. Izakaya is Schulson's contemporary interpretation of Japanese fare in a sensual, upscale atmosphere.

Izakaya by Michael Schulson is a Japanese restaurant that features sushi, robatayaki, and a large assortment of small plates. The dim lighting and energetic music provide a sexy, fun atmosphere that is great for large groups celebrating or an intimate small gathering. The sprawling space features three separate dining areas, any of which can accommodate larger groups. The free flowing kitchen puts an emphasis on family style dining as most dishes are designed to be shared.
